The Apostolic Church in Canada

Our Canadian story began in 1927 when Robert Caldwell of Gaspereau, Nova Scotia was impacted by the Holy Spirit while attending an Apostolic church in Philadelphia. Upon returning to Nova Scotia, as he told others of his experience, they too had a life changing encounter with The Spirit. As a result, the first Apostolic Church in Canada was established in a home with just nineteen members.

Revival fire characterized the expansion of churches into Quebec and Ontario. From the outset, the churches had the same vision to see the Gospel of Jesus spread throughout the world. Missionaries and their families were sent to Jamaica and Barbados, and then to Brazil. These nations now have their own movements and continue in strong fellowship with us as international partners. The ACC has strong relationships with other international partners in India and Haiti.

Multiple churches reflective of our diverse culture have been planted throughout Canada under the banner of The Apostolic Church in Canada.

Our desire is to raise up: “ A vibrant and authentic Apostolic community across Canada.”

The Apostolic Church

The Apostolic Church in Canada is part of the world-wide Apostolic Church which was birthed out of the 1904-1905 Welsh revival and the linking of fellowships within the UK with a like-minded Apostolic vision.

The Apostolic Church worldwide is a Trinitarian, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Apostolic network of churches with a strong commitment to missions resulting from a Prophetic challenge early in its existence “to belt the globe with the Gospel”. The Apostolic Church holds to the evangelical truth that Salvation is only attained by grace through faith in The Lord Jesus Christ.

There are now affiliated, self-governing networks of churches, in over 100 countries around the world with a membership of over 15 million. They are joined together with a vision of planting churches to expand and build the Church of Jesus Christ; releasing the Apostolic Five-Fold Ministries (see Ephesians 4:11) and releasing every member of the Body of Christ in their individual spiritual giftings (see 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
